Alexis Sanchez spotted in Cheshire while Manchester United team-mates fly to Los Angeles… and Daley Blind is also absent from pre-season squad as he closes in on £14m Ajax move
Alexis Sanchez and Daley Blind stayed behind when Manchester United flew to Los Angeles for their pre-season tour on Sunday.
Sanchez was missing when the United players arrived at Manchester Airport after being pictured with friends in Cheshire earlier in the day.
It’s unclear why the Chile forward did not travel, although he is expected to join up with the tour after returning to training at Carrington on Wednesday.

Sanchez is one of the biggest names in a United squad missing a number of World Cup stars who will have time off following the tournament in Russia.
Manager Jose Mourinho has named a young squad that includes seven teenagers – Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong, RoShaun Williams, Ethan Hamilton, Joshua Bohui, Mason Greenwood and James Garner.
Blind has also been left out of the travelling party as he moves closer to a return to Ajax. United have agreed a fee of £14million rising to £18.5m for the Holland defender, who cost £13.8m when he joined from the Dutch club in 2014.
It was unclear if Blind would fly to the US with Mourinho’s squad for the five-match tour which takes in games in Phoenix, Santa Clara, LA, Detroit and Miami. However, United are satisfied that the deal is close enough to being completed for Blind to stay in Europe.
The 28-year-old followed his former Holland manager Louis van Gaal to Old Trafford after the last World Cup and was a versatile player who could operate at centre-back, left-back and, occasionally, in defensive midfield. But a lack of pace has been a problem as he dropped down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.
Blind made 144 appearance in four years at United, winning the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup. But he made just four Premier League starts last season, leaving his departure in little doubt.
